YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy notice
How Broadline Services Limited handles information for enquiries, logistics services, customer accounts and shipment tracking.
Prepared for the website revamp · 23 September 2026
Who we are
Broadline Services Limited provides freight forwarding and logistics services, including sea, air and land freight, customs clearance, haulage and logistics support. This notice covers personal information used for website enquiries, customer accounts and shipment tracking. For privacy questions, contact our general office at info@broadlineservices.com or 08032484441, and ask for your request to be directed to the person responsible for data protection. Our office is at 14 Ojulowo Imoshe Street, off Oduyemi Street, Anifowoshe, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Information we use
Enquiries include your name, email address, selected service and message, together with any optional company, telephone and general origin or destination details you provide. Customer accounts contain a display name, email address and authentication information. Shipment records contain a reference, account assignment, transport mode, general route, status, available dates and published history. Authorised staff may keep operational notes and records of changes. Technical records may include IP addresses, request times and security events needed to operate and protect the service. Please do not put passwords, payment details or identity documents in an enquiry.
Where information comes from
We receive information from you, from your organisation or an authorised representative arranging a shipment, and from staff who manage accounts and shipment updates. Technical information is generated when you use the website. If you provide someone else’s information, ensure that you are authorised to share it and direct them to this notice.
Why information is used
We use information to answer enquiries, discuss service requirements, manage customer access, coordinate agreed logistics services and publish appropriate shipment updates. We also use limited information to investigate problems, prevent misuse and maintain operational records. Depending on the activity, the relevant basis is taking steps you request before a contract or performing a contract, meeting a legal obligation, or a legitimate interest in secure and effective business operations, balanced against your rights. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.
Accounts and public tracking
Accounts are created or invited by staff; there is no public registration. Signed-in customers can view shipments assigned to their account. Anyone with a valid tracking reference can see published service, status, general locations, available dates and history, so share references carefully. Public results do not show customer names, email addresses, telephone numbers, exact street addresses, documents or internal notes. Tracking consists of staff-published updates, not live GPS. Customer account access does not expose staff audit records.
Sharing information
Access within Broadline is limited according to staff responsibilities. Hosting, email and technical support providers may process information required to operate the service. For an agreed shipment, relevant information may need to be shared with transport or logistics partners and customs or other authorities where necessary for that service or required by law. This does not mean the website has an automatic carrier or customs integration. Only information relevant to the purpose should be shared. International freight may involve recipients outside Nigeria; any transfer must have an applicable lawful basis and the safeguards required for the circumstances.
Cookies and website operation
The customer area requires essential authentication and session controls. Security controls help protect forms and limit abusive requests. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other requested functions. The planned website does not include advertising campaigns or default third-party map embeds. If optional analytics, advertising cookies or third-party embeds are introduced, their use and available choices must be explained before activation, with consent where required.
Retention and security
Information is kept for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the enquiry or service relationship, operational record needs, applicable legal obligations and the resolution of disputes. Enquiry records, accounts, shipment histories, security records and backups may have different retention needs. Records should then be deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed, subject to lawful preservation requirements. Access controls and other appropriate technical and organisational measures help protect information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and requests
Subject to applicable law and its exceptions, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction, or portability, and object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis used. Contact the office using the details above and describe your request; only proportionate information should be requested to verify your identity. Do not send identity documents with an initial enquiry. Some records may need to be retained for lawful reasons even after a deletion request. You may also raise a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be updated when website services or relevant data-handling practices change. Material changes should be communicated in an appropriate way. This version was prepared on 23 September 2026 for the website revamp; it is not an announcement that the customer portal is already operating.
